Jalandhar February 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- CV Raman Science Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized One day Seminar on Water Conservation under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Mr. Vinod Milana, Area Coordinator, Rajasthan, Hariawal Punjab was the Resource Person of the event. Mrs. Saloni Sharma (Incharge, CV Raman Science Society), Mrs. Deepshikha (Incharge, Science Faculty) along with other faculty members welcomed the guests with a planter. Mrs. Deepshikha gave the introduction about the event. Mr Vinod Milana informed the students about the importance of water conservation in our lives. He made students aware about the minor changes that they can bring in their lives to conserve water.
The resource person discussed about the steps taken by their department for rain water harvesting in their native place. He also put light on the initiatives taken by him to create a model for rain water harvesting in a rural area and afterwards his success at installation place which was also appreciated by Mr. Kejriwal, CM of Delhi. He emphasized to plant more and more trees even indoor plants to receive fresh air all the time. He educated the students to throw garbage in the dustbins, avoid using plastic bags etc.
His words further emphasized on importance and role of our society to save the environment. He concluded his lecture with words that the government of every country must implement strict laws for industries, those are releasing the toxic wastes for proper waste management. The awareness programmes should be organized to encourage citizens to use public transport as much as possible. Around 110 students of science stream attended the event. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the Science department for organizing such awareness programme and motivated the students to contribute in conservation of water.
