Jalandhar May 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A program regarding road safety, and child and women safety was organized at Innocent Hearts School, Loharan on May 22, 2023. This program was initiated by Sanjh Kendra under commissionrate Jalandhar.
The members of Sanjh Kendra Inspector Gurdip Lal (incharge district Sanjh Kendra commissionrate Jalandhar), Sh. Surinder Saini (UNICEF observer national awards running an NGO for last 20 years), Inspector Sanjeev Kumar Incharge Sub Divisional, Central and North Saanjh Kendra Commisionarate Jalandhar and Punjab Police Mahila Mitra Smt. Madhu (Head Constable police station Sadar) was present. They made the students aware of the different laws for children’s and women’s help. Helpline numbers were given to the students for emergency help.
Students were made aware of the POCSO act, victim relief services, legal provisions of IPC, sexual harassment of women in the workplace, domestic violence, rights of women and children, and the child protection from sexual offenses Act 2012.
The students were also told about the work of the Sanjh Kendra and the working of UNICEF in India and the various works of children’s welfare. They also made the students aware of the rights and duties of the students as a citizen of India.
Around 200 plants (medicinal/ herbal) were planted on the campus by the team along with the students.
The worthy representatives told that around 2300 trees will be planted in the City during the month.
