Apeejay College of Fine Arts celebrated International Women’s Day

Jalandhar March 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated International Women’s Day with great joy and enthusiasm to honour the spirit of woman and her journey. Mrs. Seema Anand Chopra, a reputed journalist and social activist was the chief guest if the day.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra warmly welcomed and expressed her great pleasure to have such a steer personality amongst them on this occasion. Putting forth her views on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Dr. Dhingra said that even in 21st century women have to take a long and difficult journey in order to make her name and stand tall amongst others in the society. With consistent efforts, today’s woman not only creates her own identity but also becomes the voice of women at large.

On this occasion, Mr. Sandeep Singh from Department of Punjabi recited a poem dedicating to the beautiful and strong spirit, which women possess.

Addresses the gathering while talking of gender roles and issues, Mrs. Seema Anand put forth that while preserving their self-esteem and prioritizing their physical fitness women need to balance between their personal and professional lives.

Taking care of our passions and interests, women have to give their all no matter which profession they have opted for in order to rise, shine, and taste success in their respective fields. During the interaction session with the faculty, Mrs. Seema put forth that it is little sad to acknowledge that due to lack of proper infrastructure and security arrangements, women in India today cannot travel on their own and the only solution at hand which is available is to either travel in groups or with family.

Dr. Sunit Kaur from Department of English presented her Vote of thanks and saluted the spirit of every woman who was present there. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Manisha, Dean Functions and all the other faculty members for making the event successful.
