Jalandhar August 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar has been celebrating the Azadi ka Mahotsava on the eve of 75th anniversary of nation’s independence with great joy and hurrah. SWA (Student Welfare Association) and NSS Wing of the college have been leaving no stones unturned to spread the message of positivity, benevolence and patriotism amongst the common folk.
On the third day of these celebrations, to embark the occasion, Dr. Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) and Dr. Sucharita Sharma (Pro Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, Director, Apeejay Education Society & Senior Education Advisor, Rajeshwari Sangeet Academy Trust) planted a tree, followed by hoisting a national flag which was saluted by all the students and faculty members as a humble regard and devotion towards it.
In order to make Har Ghar Tiranga successful, all the faculty members were gifted tri-coloured stalls and national flag from the NSS volunteers and SWA. A street play was performed while taking a toll on the social issues sarcastically. The patriotic messages recorded by all the heads of multiple departments of college were also shown while a patriotic poem was recited by Mr. Sandeep Singh of Department of Punjabi.

The students of Music Vocal awed the audience with their enthusiasm and patriotic performance prepared under the aegis of Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Vivek Verma. Also, a documentary ‘Safarnama’ was shown displaying the progress of Indian since 1947. A dance performance choreographed by Dr. Micky Verma won hearts of the gathering which was echoing all the elements of independence, patriotism and proud Indians. Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean, NSS Wing thanked everyone for their contribution in making the programme successful.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that the beauty of our nation lies in the fact that irrespective of diverse cultures, languages, festivals, religions, lifestyles, we thrive as one and united. She appreciated Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean, NSS Wing and Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dean, SWA for organising the entire programme successfully.
