Jalandhar April 25 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar held 48th Annual Prize Distribution Function to glorious achievers and the best performers in academics and extracurricular activities. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar, Guru Nanak Dev University and the special guest was Mr. Nirmal Mahajan, Member, Board of Governors. The ceremony began by lightening the holy lamp and singing Saraswati Vandana to invoke the blessings of the Almighty god.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed her views about Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, President, Apeejay Education and said, “It is under her able guidance, innovative thinking and farsightedness that the college is touching such heights and attaining excellence day by day not just in the academics but in the cultural activities as well. She congratulated all the students who had made their college and their parents proud of them.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and said that the presence of such a versatile personality who is a dedicated educationist, expert researcher and disciplinarian will certainly inspire and motivate our young brigade of students to aspire for the sky and achieve their life goals.

Dr. Dhingra also shared the proud achievements of the college with the respected guests and said, “ACFA is making its own distinct identity at the national level in every field be it -education, research or youth festival.” She humbly boasted that during Youth Festivals, our students have performed and earned name and fame not only at regional or state level but also in the North zone and at national level. Also, in the surveys conducted by the national magazines, ACFA has ranked top in the field of Arts, Design and Commerce.

In the 48th Annual Prize Distribution ceremony, 189 students were rewarded who had secured top positions in GNDU University exams and in College in the Session 2021-2022, 60 students were rewarded for their flawless and excellent performances during Youth Festival and 31 students were rewarded for their outstanding performance and expertise they had developed in their respective fields.

Expressing his views on this special occasion, Dr. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon said, ” ACFA is an ocean of talent and GNDU also feels proud of it for it does not stuff the heads of the students with the facts but give them the ample space, exposure, freedom and environment to be creative and innovative.” He aslo added that that he is sure that where ever Apeejayites will go, they will leave the signature mark of Apeejay there.”

To make the event a grand success, the college student Riddhima filled the auditorium with thunderous applause with her scintillating presentation of Indian Classical Dance. Kritika Sharma, Harsifat Kaur, Jasleen Kaur, Nargis, Deepali and Bhavini sang a Western group song which had won the first prize in Youth Festival at National level. Also, the students – Ridhima, Hitin, Pallak, Mrinal, Vanshika, Nishta, Jaspinder and Navpreet did a Group dance expressing the pure spirit and essence of spirituality.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra presented a memento to honour the Chief Guest. Dr. Sunit Kaur, Head, Department of English, formally thanked everyone for their co-operation in making the programme a huge success. Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts the faculty members for their cooperation and dedication for making the entire programme a huge success.
