Jalandhar September 3 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar rolled out the red carpet to welcome the new students at the College. A Freshers’ Party was organised by SWA wing of the college to make them feel more home in the college campus. The students too were enthusiastic and joyful to be the part of it.
The event opened with the heart soothing musical performance by the students of Music who had prepared under the aegis of Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Vivek Verma. The melody of songs of 80s, 90s and 20s mesmerized the audience. The students of Dance Department of the college – Surbhi, Ridhima, Yashkiran, Mrinal, Pallak, Jaspinder, Tanishka and Navpreet won the hearts of the audience by their dance performance which was the combination of Punjabi, Western and Classical dance forms and set the stage on the fire.

Also, there was a modelling round for the new entrants of the college for which the judges were – Ms. Rajni Gupta, Dr. Jagmohan Mago and Ms. Garima Arora. On the basis of the students’ wits and dress, Simer became Miss Fresher, Jaskaran became Mr. Fresher, Aastha was the Runner up in girls’ category and Rajveer was the runner up in boys’ category. Along with them, Sanyawas chosen as Miss Elegant, Abhishek was Mr. Handsome and Asim was Ms. Cynosure.
Addressing the students, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that the college years are the golden years of one’s lifetime but this is a quite crucial time for the efforts and hardwork made in these years decide how reap the fruit is going to be tomorrow for them. She asked the students to enjoy to their fullest but make sure that they are not compromising their studies. She congratulated Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dean SWA, Dr. Payal Arora, Ms. Garima Arora, Ms. Ramandeep, Mr. Vishav Bandhu and Mr. Sandeep Singh for successfully organising the entire event.
