Apeejay College paid tribute to the First Lady – Mrs Rajeshwari Paul on her 99th birth anniversary

Jalandhar July 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A glorious tribute was paid to Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul, the First Lady of Apeejay Stya Group on her 99th birth anniversary at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra read the message of Smt. Sushma Paul Berlia (Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University) before the gathering. Through the message, Mrs Berlia said ”My father and my mother Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, the founders of Apeejay Education, loved various forms of Indian art and made many efforts to preserve, promote the culture.

About Mrs Rajeshwari Paul Ji, Mrs. Berlia wrote that she had adopted a simple lifestyle and had profound thoughts in life. She was an epitome of kindness and selflessness. Also, she was a Kathak dancer, a swimmer and had an adventurous soul. She was the inspiration of Dr. Stya Paul ji and that is how Rajeshwari Kala Sangam took birth in order to make art accessible to each and every person and every budding artist and that very institute today proudly flourishes under the name of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra while paying her regards to the visionary First Lady of Apeejay said that both our teachers and students carry the heritage of Dr. Stya Paul ji and Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul ji and work hard to spread the fragrance of art all over India.

On this occasion, students from Department of Music recited hymns and mesmerized everyone and the students from Department of Dance awed the audience with their Indian classical dance .Also, the students from Department of Art made Rajeshwari Ji’s portrait and made the day memorable.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra, Dr. Monika Anand and Dr. Seema Sharma for the immense success of this programme.
