Jalandhar August 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The 76th Indian’s Independence Day was marked with patriotic fervour and zeal on the campus of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs accompanied by staff members, unfurled the tricolour, which was followed by the National Anthem. NCC Army Wing, NCC Air Wing, and NSS volunteers saluted and participated with patriotic zeal. This included a brief celebration that included a patriotic performance by students. A large number of students attended the college’s Independence Day programme. Prof Jasreen Kaur stated that India is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit mahotsav and this was the historic day on which India gained independence from British rule.
On this day, we remember all of our freedom fighters who gave their lives for the sake of the country. We have celebrated 75 years of freedom and thank all those who fought for it. On 15 August 1947, India was recognised as an independent nation, but our forefathers had to give up everything for this recognition.
She congratulated the students and teachers present on the occasion. In his message, Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh also recalled the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and expressed his commitment to working toward the realisation of our founding fathers’ dreams. It is our responsibility to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices for the country’s independence.
He praised our armed forces’ consistent efforts to protect our country bravely. He urged students to recognise, comprehend, and cherish our prized liberty as we strive for a more progressive nation. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion. All department heads and other staff members were present on this occasion.
