Jalandhar May 15 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NCC Unit of PCM S.D College for Women, Jalandhar in association with 2 Punjab Girls Battalian organised two days exibition to celebrate 25 years of Pokhran Second Nuclear Test. The theme of the event was ‘Peaceful use of Nuclear Energy for the Development of the Nation’. The acitivities were done under the able guidance of Major Pratima, Adam officer of 2 Punjab Girls Battalian.Around 85 cadets participated in the events with full zeal. The movie was screened to the students on the Pokhran Nuclear Test.
Cadets also gave their viewpoints on the useful aspects of nuclear energy through powerpoint presentation. A poster making competition was also organised through which cadets depicted the importance of energy in a very creative manner and had also showed how the production of electricity from nuclear energy did not cause much harm to the environment.
President Shri Naresh Kumar Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada and the other honourable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar lauded the efforts of the NCC team and Captain Priya Mahajan, incharge of NCC Wing for successful organizing the events. She also averred that students must be motivated to part in such endeavors as these kind of activities enhances their scientific aptitude. 2Girls bn Subedar Major D S Yulukoth, 03JCO and 06 NCOs were also present.
