
Jalandhar April 26 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A National Webinar was organized by the Department of Home Science of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar on the topic of ‘Millets for Health and Happiness’ Chef Meghana Shukla, Internationally renowned millet cooking expert & advisor, Indore, Madhya Pradesh was the resource person of the webinar. At the outset, Mrs Manmeet Kaur , Head, Department of the Home Science introduced the chief guest to the participants of the webinar and also familiarized the audience with the topic.
Chef Meghana Shukla in her speech spoke on the production and consumption of millets which is highly nutritious and eco-friendly grains. She further said that these grains help in preventing diseases such as obesity, diabetes, arthritis, cancer and so on which causes due to the imbalanced nutritious food. Consuming millets also provide self-stability and good health. This year is considered as International Year for Millets with the theme to produce more such grains and use it to improve the gut microbial of the people.
At the end, Mrs Etti Aggarwal extended vote of thanks to the resource person and the participants. President Shri Naresh Kumar Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other honorable members of the Management Committee and the worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Parashar congratulated the Department of Home Science for successfully organizing the National Webinar.
