Jalandhar April 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Department of Music organized an International Webinar on the topic ‘The contribution of Sikh musicology to the study of Gurbani Sangeet: Reflections on Gender and Inclusivity’ Prof. Francessca Cassio from Hofstra University (New York) was the Resource person of the day. At the outset, Mrs. Anu Bala , Head, Deptt of Music (Vocal) introduced the chief guest to the participants of the webinar and also familiarized the audience with the topic.
Prof. Cassio threw considerable light on the importance of the topic. She talked about the Gurbaani Sangeet and the role of Women in Gurbani Sangeet. At the end, Mrs Arupriya Seen, Department of Music (Instrument) extended vote of thanks to the resource person and the participants. President Shri Naresh Kumar Bhudia ji, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, the other honourable members of the Management Committee and the worthy Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar congratulated the Department of Music for successfully organizing an International webinar.
