
Jalandhar June 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Teaching Staff today at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar bid adieu to Dr. Manohar Singh who attained superannuation after a long and meritorious service. Dr. Manohar Singh served for 26 years in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of Lyallpur Khalsa College.
Praising the loyalty and commitment of Dr. Manohar Singh to the College, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra presented him souvenirs and wished him happy and healthy retired life. He said that Lyallpur Khalsa College had become the leading college of Punjab in computer education in which Dr. Manohar Singh had made a special and significant contribution. He informed that the Computer Department under the leadership of Dr. Manohar Singh received many projects from the UGC. On this occasion a letter of commendation was also presented to Dr. Manohar Singh.
In his farewell speech, Dr. Manohar Singh expressed his sense of belongingness with the institution and commitment to the society. On this occasion he gave a detailed account of the history and achievements of the Computer Department.
Dr. Manohar Singh and his wife were also specially honored by all the teaching staff and Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra. Prof. Jasreen Kaur Dean Academic Affairs presented a vote of thanks on the occasion. The stage on the occasion was managed by the staff secretary Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu.
