Jalandhar April 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Bachelor of Design Department conducted a market survey with Fashion and Textile Designing Specialization students in local Jalandhar market in which students visited wholesalers, distributors and producers of Fashion Design and textile construction materials, along with faculty member Miss Harwinder Kaur.
Students got knowledge of different fabrics, prints, fashion trends, accessories and suppliers for Raw Materials, legal obligation for startups, evaluation of Channels of Distribution, etc. Local fabric market, Rainik Bazaar, Brandrath Road and Sheikhan Bazaar were covered. Students interacted with consumers, shopkeepers and sales persons explained about latest trends and fabric utilization in various design worlds.
Information was very helpful for students to understand current scenario of the fashion world. Students discussed positive and negative aspects with teacher, experts, craftsmen, and with consumers which is very helpful for students to work on their projects for new setup. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated Design Department and said that it is important to give market knowledge to students along with bookish knowledge.
