Jalandhar March 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Planning Forum, PG Department of Economics, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar, organized a Poster Making Competition on theme ‘Social Justice’ under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs Ajay Sareen. The sub themes for the same were ‘Income and Regional Inequality – Issues and Solutions’, ‘Gender Equality and Women Empowerment’, ‘Role of health, education as a catalyst of social justice’.
The students presented their perspective by making posters on issues related to social justice like women empowerment, gender equality, social inequalities, income inequalities, regional inequalities etc. Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, PG Department of English, Dr. Ashmeen IQAC Coordinator and Head, PG Department of Psychology, Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Department of Design adjudged the posters and congratulated winners. Reeva Sharma from BFA sem IV secured the first position, Jasnoor Kaur from BFA sem IV & Sukhmani from B.com Sem IV stood the second and Yogita from BFA sem II & Himanshi from B.Sc (Eco) sem IV bagged third position.
In this league, Gaytri from BA sem II & Aman from B.Sc (Eco) sem VI won the consolation prize. Dr. Shallu Batra Head PG Department of Economics addressed the students to make them realize that better division of resources provide opportunities to weaker and deprived section of society to gain more knowledge and improve skills, which empower latter and enhance social justice, and simultaneously spur economic growth. Faculty Members Dr. Mamta, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Mrs Meenu Kohli, Mrs. Chandrika, Mrs. Jyotika Minhas, Ms. Harmanu, Mrs.Ritu Bajaj, Mrs Navneeta , Mrs. Gagan, Ms. Bhawna, Ms. Rinku were present on this occasion. Secretary Akshita, Joint secretary Aman and Assistant secretary Khushnoor also contributed in this occasion with full enthusiasm.
