
Jalandhar August 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Fresher Party ‘Shubharambh 2023’ was organized in the premises of HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School for newcomer students under the encouraging guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The main objective was to make every new student feel connected as an integral part of the HMV family and prepare them for the challenges of the coming years.
The entire programme was organized under the supervision of Dr. Seema Marwaha, School Coordinator and Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean, Student Council. Function was started with lamp lighting followed by DAV Gaan. In her address, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed all and especially students and gave them her blessings. She said that HMV will help students to achieve their goals and provide wings too to fly high in the sky.

After passing out, they will remember golden period of college days so they should participate in each and every activity for their growth. According to her, faculty members are role models for students and they work so hard to inculcate talent in them but for this coordination from students is also needed. She talked about SWOC analysis according to which students should work on both their strengths and weaknesses and build confidence to meet the challenges of life. She also prayed to the Almighty that all students achieve their goals by moving forward on the path of progress.
HMV is not only known for its excellence in academics but also for the overall personality development of its students. Furthermore, she told the students that they have entered HMV with hopes and aspirations so she assured all that in this institution they will be successful in fulfilling their all ambitions under the guidance of the teachers and who will turn them into chiseled diamonds. She asked them to be assured about their discipline, regularity and punctuality in classes to be a pleasing global citizen. She admired the cultural items performed by participants and congratulated entire school team for arranging such a beautiful function.

Along with this dance, Punjabi, Giddha, Bhangra, Games, Singing, Mimicry, Comedy etc. were also performed. Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, (Punjabi) Dean Holistic Growth, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Head of Botany Department & Dean Innovation and Research and Dr. Sangeeta Arora Head of Computer Science Department played the role of Judges.
In modelling, students were given different titles. Ashmeet Kaur Miss Freshers, Hargun Kaur 1stRunner-up, Gauri 2nd Runner-up, Sukriti Miglani Miss Artsy Queen, Dippenpreet Kaur Miss Biz Girl, Suhani Miss Tech Fairy respectively.

On this occasion, Mrs. Arvinder Kaur Beri while presenting the vote of thanks, thanked all the members wholeheartedly and said that these types of events give confidence and help in intellectual development of the students, which is very necessary in today’s modern and competitive world.
In the end, she motivated the students to get successful and reach at heights by adopting positive thinking in life so by this they can make their institution, teachers and parents proud. The stage was conducted by Ms. Rashmi Sethi and Ms.Vanshika. On this occasion the teachers of college and school sections were present.
