Jalandhar April 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Students of Heritage Club of Class IX of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt Jandiala Road and Royal World) were taken to ‘Jung-e-Azadi’ for an educational excursion. The purpose of which was to make the students aware of the freedom-fighters of the country and the sacrifices made by them for the freedom of the country. The students were shown the documentary movie ‘Jung-e-Azadi’, which showed how freedom fighters like Shaheed Udham Singh, Kartar Singh Sarabha, Sardar Bhagat Singh etc. sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
In this movie, the scene of JallianWala Bagh massacre was shown to the children how General Dyer fired bullets on innocent Indians and they had to lose their lives. Seeing this, the children got emotional. The students were taken to various museums in which through visual illustrations, the freedom struggle and the role of the fighters who took part in it were outlined. The students were told by a teacher there that each museum of Jung-e-Azadi exhibits different aspects of the role of Punjab in India’s freedom struggle.This memorable hall shows the great and unmatched contribution of Punjabi in the national freedom struggle.
