KMV organises an invited talk on Career Progression In Sciences by Dr. Umesh Kumar Sharma, Scientist-F, DST, New Delhi

Jalandhar September 12 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an invited talk by Dr. Umesh Kumar Sharma, Scientist-F, from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi to deliver a guest lecture on “Career Progression In Sciences”. The lecture was organised by PG Department of Physics. Dr. Umesh Kumar Sharma commenced the talk by shedding light on the importance of aligning one’s passion and interests with their career path. He discussed the various initiatives, scholarships and opportunities offered by the government to foster the growth of scientists and researchers in India.

He also introduced the audience to the various transformative scholarship programs like INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research), WISE (Women Scientists Scheme) Scholarship, WISE Post-Doctoral Fellowship (WISE-PDF) and SERB (Science and Engineering Research Board) and many more. Dr. Sharma explained the application and selection processes for each scholarship program elaborating the benefits and impact of these scholarships on the recipients and the scientific community at large. He guided the students on preparing competitive grant proposals and provided valuable guidance to aspiring scientists and researchers.

The talk ended into an interactive session, where attendees got the opportunity to clear their doubts regarding the various scholarships for students and research grants during one to one interaction with Dr. Sharma. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude to the resource person for imparting much important information on the subject to the students. She averred that such events help the students in developing their understanding of their subjects & will also motivate the students to pursue career into their subjects. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of PG Department of Physics for successfully organising the invited talk.
