KMV’s NCC cadets excel at Army Attachment Camp

Jalandhar February 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) NCC Cadets brought laurels to KMV by attending Army Attachment Camp for 12 daysat Jalandhar Cantt. The Army Attachment Camp was conducted by 18 Sikh Regiment . These camps are conducted by the NCC in collaboration with the Indian Army, as the willing cadets are attached to the 18 Sikh Regiment for the training period of 12 days. The camp was a life time experience for the cadets, where they lived the routine of army cadets for the tenure of the camp. During the camp cadets were exposed to practical training and knowledge about the weapons and equipment which are used by the Indian Army.

NCC cadets were given practical chance to fire with INSAS rifle and LMG & they also visited different places like Vajra Officer Institute, Vajra Sports Stadium, 10 meters indoor firing range, Helipad and Orphanage. Various lectures were conducted by Army officers and former army officers about SSB, leadership Qualities and many other things. In this camp 25 cadets got a chance to attend the Army rally in which 3 cadets namely Sergeant Shweta Rana, Sergeant Manpreet Kaur and LCPL Vinakshi Choudhary were from KMV & they also got an opportunity to meet the servicemen, Veernaari & officers of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

Principal Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such trainings are vital part of holistic education. She lauded he Department of NCC for providing such opportunities and for working zealously to come up with a variety of opportunities and activities everyday so that the students can emerge as the future leaders of the Nation. Commanding officer 2 Pb. (G) Bn. NCC Jalandhar Col. Narinder Toor congratulated the cadets for their excellent performance in the training camp.
