Lyallpur Khalsa College Celebrated International Yoga Day

Jalandhar June 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme and Department of Physical Education and Sports of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar in collaboration with 2 Punjab NCC Battalion celebrated 9thInternational Yoga Day at college campus. The programme began with Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur’s address. Welcoming the participants, she stated that yoga is India’s gift to the world and it is now a part of the Global Calendar. Yoga and meditation are more important than ever.

Principal stated that yoga refreshes mind, body, and soul, and she added that all students should learn these Yoga Asans and practise them with family members. Yoga Trainer Smt. Rekha Uppal also spoke on the occasion. She said that in today’s world, people are prone to a variety of mental and physical issues, but yoga offers multifaceted solutions to these issues. Yoga has something for everyone and helps us keep our bodies and minds healthy and strong.

Yoga Trainer S. Pritam Singh performed various yoga asans in the hour-long programme and participants followed him. More than 150 cadets, volunteers and students performed yoga asans in this event. NCC Army wing in-charge, Lt. Dr. Karanbir Singh, NSS Program Officer Satpal Singh, SM Harbhajan Singh, Rajwinder Singh from 2 Punjab NCC Battalion were also present during this event.
