Jalandhar January 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College NSS Unit concluded Special Seven Day Camp on 13th January, 2023 at Lyallpur Khalsa College. Chief Guest of the event, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra was welcomed by NSS Program Officers: Prof Satpal Singh, Dr Amandip Kaur, Dr Navneet Arora and Dr Priyank Shardha. The theme of the camp was cleanliness and personality development with focus on bonding with nature and society. During the camp, volunteers cleaned campus, rainwater recharge pits, Lyallpur Khalsa College halt and organized awareness rallies in villages Johlan and Bolina Doaba related to blood donation, water preservation and impacts of drug abuse.
Volunteers cleaned public places at Johlan. PO Satpal Singh read out the report of the camp. He informed that total 153 volunteers participated in this Special Camp which was organized from 7th to 13th Jan. 2023. Dr. Samra, in his address, lauded the efforts of volunteers and motivated the volunteers to maximize their participation at national level events. He, then, awarded certificates to all the campers.
During this camp, sessions of motivational lecture by State Awardee Surinder Saini and meditation workshop by Ms. Swarcha Mehra from Heartfulness were also conducted. NSS volunteer Lovepreet Kaur, Jaspreet Jassal and Vanshika were adjudged as best campers. During the concluding ceremony, Dr SS Bains, Dean Sports, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, Head Department of Biotechnology, Dr Surinder Pal Mand, Head Department of Punjabi were also present.
