NCC Week Celebrated at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar

Jalandhar November 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NCC Week has been celebrated enthusiastically at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar under the guidance of lieutenant Priya Mahajan the in-charge of the SD College NCC wing and Mr. Surinder Saini, Secretary , Jalandhar Welfare Society. Every year the fourth week of November is celebrated as the NCC Week throughout India with great zeal and fervour. In this week, the NCC cadets participate in various social activities. Like every year, this year NCC cadets of the college went to slum areas of Master Tara Singh Nagar, Jalandhar. They distributed various items of necessity to about hundred families living in this slum area. Helping the needy and optimally utilizing the things which are of no use to others, the cadets learnt some important values like humanity, compassion, resource mobilisation and sense of affinity. The residents of Master Tara Singh Nagar such as Anjali Bansal and Rajeev Bansal appreciated the efforts of the students in helping the weaker sections of the society. Speaking on the occasion, the members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal of the college Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar praised the efforts of the students and lieutenant Priya Mahajan in guiding the students to work for the community.
