NSS Volunteers of Lyallpur Khalsa College made the first fortnight of August Glorious

Jalandhar August 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- NSS units Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized a series of events in the first fortnight of August, 2022. On one side, 02 NSS volunteers participated in an International Youth Seminar at Hyderabad from 11th to 14th August 2022. And in college, activities like Tiranga Rally, declamation contest, Van Mahautsav, International Youth Day, Cleanliness camp around college surroundings were organized. Volunteers planted trees, cleaned area in Hargobindpura and also made bird wooden houses.

Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra in his message appreciated the efforts of volunteers and said it is very important to connect students to environment. As the world is witnessing climate changes, it is high time to take students close to nature to keep the environment green and clean. Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Jasreen Kaur lauded the manual work of volunteers.

Chief Program officer Satpal Singh said that these bird houses made by volunteers will be hung on trees in the college campus. He informed that these series of events were dedicated to celebrate 75th anniversary of Indian independence under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahautsav. On this occasion, Prof. Navdeep Kaur Head department of Economics, Dr. Harjit Singh Head Department of Mathematics and Dr. Balraj Kaur were present.
