
Jalandhar November 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women Jalandhar participated in Spark-7 Mela organised by District Administration, Jalandhar on 23-24 November, 2022.The chief guests of the event were Amit Mahajan, ADG, Jalandhar and Jaspreet Singh, DC, Jalandhar. Students of various schools visited the stall no. 58 maintained by the college with great enthusiasm.Various Departments of the college such as Cosmetology, Fine Arts, Home Science, Fashion Designing etc put up their stalls and exhibuted their creative skills. Students were very fascinated by these stalls.
These students were given awareness regarding various courses under different streams run by the institution. They were also informed about the career prospects of each of these courses in detail. They interacted with the faculty members of the college to gain knowledge about the choice of different subjects in these courses and their respective job scenario. The students were very much attracted towards Integrated B.A .B.Ed, a four-year course, which shortens the students’ way to teaching by one year.

The students were also very excited to know about skill oriented UGC Sponsored B.Voc Courses by which they will be able to get jobs in various sectors as well as to have entrepreneurial skills.The students were not only familiarised with traditional courses but also by the Vocational courses that are chiefly emphasised in New Education Policy 2020. They were also made aware about the relevance of resarch and innovation in teaching ,learning and employment in the Cotemporary times.
The President of the Managing Committee of the college Sh. Naresh Kumar Budhia ji, other honourable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated this event and said that this Educational Fair is a fruitful endeavour of the administration which gives a platform to higher educational institutions for counselling the students for further studies and career options.
