Jalandhar February 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar held 46th Convocation. Honourable Controller of Examination, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar Prof. (Dr.) Palwinder Singh was the Chief Guest of the day. The Chief Guest was accorded a floral welcome by President of the Governing body President Naresh Kumar Budhia ji, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada ji, Shri Rakesh Dada, Shri Satish Dada, Shri T.N Lama, Shri Raman Budhia, Shri Parveen Dada, Shri Parmode Chopra, Principal Prof Dr. Pooja Prashar, In-charges of the function Mrs Ujla Dada Joshi, Mrs Renu Tandon, the Head Girl and the Vice Head Girl which was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar gave a formal welcome to all the dignitaries, after which she read out the details of the college Annual Report wherein she highlighted the college achievements in various fields like academics, sports and cultural activities. The chief guest declared 46th Convocation open. Students of M. Com, MSc Fashion Designing, M.B.I.E.T, MSc Computer Science, MSc IT, MSc FD, B.A Honours, B.A, B.Com, B.Com Financial Services, BSc Economics, BSc Computer Science, BSc Non-Medical, BSc Fashion Designing, BCA, B.Com Honours, B.Voc Web Designing and Development and B.Voc Fashion Designing and Product were awarded degrees.
In all 623 degrees were given. After bestowing degrees, the chief guest delivered his address. He congratulated the students asking them to pursue their dreams and grab more opportunities their way. He held that as students they must think critically, thrive intellectually and must have a voice of their own. He also acknowledged the role of women in shaping our society. Members of the governing body, Principal and the Incharges of the function honoured the chief guest with a momento as a token of gratitude. Principal of Seth Hukam Chand School, New Prem Nagar Mrs Mamta Behl and Principal of Sada Sukh Chopra School Mrs Nishi Rajput also graced the event.
