Jalandhar August 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- In order to nurture creativity and inculcate aesthetic sense in the students, a two-day Rakhi Exhibition cum Sale was organized by the Earn While You Learn Unit of the Post Graduate Department of Fashion Designing of PCM S. D. College for Women, Jalandhar. The exhibition was setup in the main block on the first day and in the IT block of the college on the consecutive day. Like every year, this year too exhibition proved to be huge success wherein students from different courses concerning Fashion Designing worked very hard to make beautiful and innovative rakhis.
In order to make handmade rakhis, students used diverse materials commonly available in every home such as colourful papers, threads, stones, pearls, glass beads etc. Besides making decorative rakhis for their brothers, students also made stylish Lumba rakhis for their bhabhis. A good number of rakhis were sold on the spot bringing a handsome amount of money and encouraging words of appreciation to the students.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, the other honorable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar congratulated the students and the Department of the Fashion Designing for successfully organizing the exibition. The Principal also applauded the painstaking endeavours put in by Mrs Sunita Bhalla, Head of the Department of Fashion Designing for the overall development of the students by organizing such creative events.
