
Jalandhar April 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Mr. Sandeep Singh, Head, Department of Punjabi of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar presented a Research paper on the topic ‘Punjabi Poetry of East and West Punjab in the Last Five Decades’ at the 40th ‘Bi-Annual Punjab Research Group Conference’, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
Presenting a Research paper on this subject, Mr. Sandeep Singh, while presenting his views on the journey of poetry of Punjabi in Indian Punjab and Pakistani Punjab in the last 5 decades, said that Punjabi poets, whether they are from India or Pakistan, have a lot of influence on contemporary political, social and economic conditions.
Where on one hand the poets of Indian Punjab present the diversity of subjects by penning down on different subjects, on the other hand the poets of Pakistani Punjab are often confined to traditional subjects. He also said in his Research paper that in India, Punjab Government makes continuous efforts to preserve and promote Punjabi language whereas Punjabi language in Pakistani Punjab has not received any such government recognition.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra praised Mr. Sandeep Singh for this excellent effort and said that in future also, by presenting his research papers at the international level, he should keep developing his personality and make the college proud.
