Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts learned various methods of making nutritious and healthy bakery products

Jalandhar September 2 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Students of Home Science Department, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar visited National Finishing and Cookery Institute (NFCI) and participated in a one day workshop on Bakery. Mrs. Anjana Joshi (Director, NFCI), Chef Kamal, Rohit and Gursimran, under the theme ‘Bake Your Own Bread’, gave the students information about the basic techniques of baking, from kneading the dough for bread to making stuffed and nutritious breads with millet. While giving information about making cakes and bread sticks, the chefs said that we can bread a part of our daily life to maintain our health provided we choose the right, healthy, tasty and nutritious version of it.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while expressing her views on this subject, said that Home Science is a practical subject, in which it becomes necessary to give practical knowledge to the students to make them proficient in their subject, hence, from time to time, we tend to organize workshops which help the students to learn and become proficient in their skills. She also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Monica Anand, Head, Department of Home Science for motivating students to participate in the workshops, and for her good work.
