Jalandhar February 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The students of Department of Psychology of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar visited Vidya Sagar Institute of Mental Health Institute, Amritsar, which is the only mental health institute in Punjab. The students visited different wards, interacted with the doctors and listened to various case histories of different patients Also, they observed the patients suffering because of different psychological disorders like bipolar, schizophrenia etc. They also visited the Rehabilitation centre where the patients were practicing various skills as knitting, stitching etc.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressing her views on the occasion said that mental health is as crucial as physical health and it is important for the students of Psychology to observe and understand the real conditions of patients suffering from the psychological diseases that they read about in their books. She admired Ms. Monika Sekhon, Head, Department of Psychology, Ms. Jagriti and all the other faculty members who had accompanied the students.
