
Jalandhar November 2 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Closing Ceremony of the 5-day painting workshop organized by PG Department of Fine Arts and PG Department of Applied Art, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar was done in a grand manner. The Resource Person of the workshop Mr. Madan Lal Ji, National Award winner from Lalit Kala Akademi, while addressing the students explained how to make meaningful and at the same time attractive paintings from in these 5 days.
He said that the use of colours play a vital role to make a painting look alive.He gave detailed information to the students about the theory of colour, its usage and the styles of different types of paintings. He added mood of the artist also gets reflected a lot on the work and while giving the final touch to the painting, it is essential to have understanding which colours should be highlighted and which should be kept in the background.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, expressed her joy while watching the exhibition of paintings made by the students in these 5 days and said, ” I am amazed to see the creativity of the students and not only I hope but have full faith that what students have learnt in these days from Lal ji’s experience will prove to be quite helpful for them in future also.”
She greatly appreciated the efforts of Dr. Rimpy Aggrawal, HOD, Fine Arts, Dr. Jeevan Kumari, Ms Amandeep Kaur and Mr. Anil Gupta, Head, Department of Applied Art for successfully organizing the workshop and said that in future also such workshops should be organized so that the students get the opportunity to meet such dynamic, versatile, experienced artists and can learn from their success and expertise.
