Apeejay College of Fine Arts organised a Health and Nutrition Camp

Jalandhar September 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NSS Wing and Department of Home Science of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar along with HDFC Bank organised a Health and Nutrition Camp in the campus to celebrate Poshan Maah. In the campus, Dr. Ankur Harjeet Kaur (M.D. Obstretics and Gynaecology from Johal Multispecialist Hospital), Dr. Gurpreet Singh (M.D. (Internal Medicine) and Dr. Satnam Dass (Nutrition and Wellness Consultant) from Satnam Art Life Centre were there who checked the Blood pressure, temperature, blood sugar of the faculty and students and told them strategies and tips to live a healthy lifestyle. Also they told them about the essential requirement of exercise and yoga in one’s daily routine.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra sharing her views said that in the concurrent age the youth, in particular, consumes fast food more than the home cooked food and is also living a sedentary lifestyle. In such scenario, it is important for us to conduct such sessions where they can be guided in the right direction. Also, she expressed her gratitude to the doctors for being there and sensitizing the students and faculty members regarding their health.

She appreciated the efforts of Ms. Monika Anand, HOD, Home Science and Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean NSS for organising the event successfully.
