Jalandhar September 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- On the occasion of 115th birth anniversary of legendary Bhagat Singh, the NSS wing of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised symposium to acquaint the students with the sacrifices he had made for the country and the spirit of patriotism he was instilled with so that they can get inspired from him and feel sincere love and affection for their country.
On this day, 50 volunteers of NSS wing of the college participated in 2.5 km marathon held at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium. The students from the Department of Theatre of the college did a play ‘Azadi Da Supna’ of which the theme was the dream that Bhagat Singh had seen of his nation being free.
The students – Harmanpreet Kaur, Bhavini, Shivanshi, Jasmeet, Udayveer, Jaskaran, Arnav and Vishal presented their views on the life journey and the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh. Another student Keshav sung a melodious patriotic song describing the spirit of Bhagat Singh and Yukti and Arshpreet recited patriotic poems on this occasion.
Addressing the students, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that such radiant and powerful personalities like Bhagat Singh take birth once in a lifetime and such undefeating spirit of sacrificing and sincerity is not seen often. She also appreciated the sincere efforts of Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean NSS and Ms.Komal for successfully organising the event and guiding the students about the great deeds of the great personality.
