Jalandhar September 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- As per the instructions of the Punjab Government, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar celebrated 115th Birthday Anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Overall in-charges of various events were Mrs. Veena Arora and Mrs. Kajal Puri. To commemorate the anniversary, 100 students Sports, NCC and NSS Units of the college participated in the marathon race and Cycle Rally organized by the District Administration at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. Another 50 students of the college visited Jang-E-Azaadi near Kartarpur.
A symposium by Department of Political Science and History on life, ideology and contribution of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was also organized in the college campus. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen was the guest of honour of this event. Students presented papers, literary items, and recited poems to commemorate this special day. Nukad Natak by Maharishi Kalidas Dramatic Club on philosophy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was also performed in the college campus.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen in her address to the students said that Bhagat Singh was an honourable and memorable name amongst all the freedom fighters. Young generation ought to be educated by life and thinking of such personalities. On this occasion, Candle Rally was also organized in HMV premises. All the events were organized by Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Smt. Kuljit Kaur, Smt. Veena Arora, Smt. Kajal Puri, Ms. Harmanu Paul. Dr. Navneet, Smt. Ramandeep and Ms. Shruti. Sh. Archit and Sh. Khushmeet from All India Council were present. On the occasion, Superintendents Sh. Pankaj Jyoti, Sh. Lakhwinder Singh and Sh. Ravi Maini were also present.
