Jalandhar October 4 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated 103rd birthday of Dr. Stya Paul Ji, fondly known as Seth Ji as the Founder’s Day. On this special occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra read the message of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia (President, Apeejay Education Society; Co Promoter & President, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; Co – Founder & Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University).
Addressing the students, Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that Dr. Stya Paul Ji was a man of many talents. He was an educationist, philanthropist and freedom fighter and it was his farsightedness which today has taken the shape of ACFA – one of the best colleges in entire North India. Also, he admired and was a keen lover of the art and had keen interest in Urdu poetry and Indian culture.
He was a spiritual person and was instilled with infinite moral and ethical values which he never failed to practice in his life. Not only had he fulfilled his personal responsibilities with accuracy but also he left no stones uncovered to contribute for the better society where all the beings could progress together.
On this day, the students of Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Vivek Verma sung Seth ji’s favourite hymns – ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ and ‘Vishwapatike Dhyan me’ and awed the gathering.
There is a tradition at ACFA that the students who shine in academics, possess ethical values and do social work are awarded with Seth Stya Paul Award on Founder’s Day. This year Punnya Deewan of MA English Semester 3rd and Danish Jain of BD Semester 7th won this prestigious award. Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated these students and encouraged them to keep practicing the moral and ethical values in life and always strive to become better than they are today.
