Jalandhar August 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The commencement of Independence Week was started by NSS volunteers of Apeejay college of Fine Arts, Jalandhar to commemorate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
On the first day of the week, the team of NSS wing organized various activities by visiting the government school in Salarpur village. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra while appreciating this memorable effort of NSS wing said that it is not only necessary to make the young generation aware of their social responsibilities but it is also the need of the hour. If we want to bring positive change in our society, then it is important to sensitize the young generation towards social problems.
NSS wing students Nirvair Singh, Iqra, Sarbjot Singh, Priyanka Gupta, Siddharth Sharma, Ankush, Anmol Singh, Simrat Kaur, Keshav Arora and Bhavya Batra satirized the justice system by giving a brilliant performance of ‘Girgit’ street play. On one hand, they distributed stationery items like registers, notebooks, pencils, erasers etc. to the students of the school, they also made an attractive Selfie point so that this would become an unforgettable moment for the students of the school.
The Principal of Government School Salarpur Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Sarpanch of Salarpur village Mrs. Sharanjit Kaur and a renowned doctor of the village Dr. Sameer Kamboj contributed significantly in the success of the programme. 150 students of the government school thoroughly enjoyed the cultural activities performed by the students of Apeejay college. To guide and assist their students, Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean of NSS wing, Dr. Kewal Krishan, Ms. Garima Arora, Mr. Sandeep Singh and Mr. Yatin accompanied them.
