
Jalandhar September 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated Teachers’ Day with great joy and enthusiasm. On this occasion, the students of Student Welfare Association of the college warmly welcomed all the faculty members by applying tilaq.
A programme was also organized on this occasion where Dr. Anjana from Department of Hindi recited a self-composed poem on the relationship between student and teacher titled Hum Tab Bhi Khathe The Hum Aaj Bhi Khathe Hai. Also, the students of department of music bowed down to their teachers and sung.
Also, Bhavini, a student of BSc fifth semester, recited a poem – Guru Mahan; Rajat, a student of B.Com, narrated an inspirational episode from the biography of APJ Abdul Kalam.

On this occasion, principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated everyone on this day and also, remembered Dr. Radhakrishnan and also read the inspirational speech of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, APJ Education Society; Chancellor and Co- founder, Apeejay Stya University and President, Apeejay Stya & Svaran Group.
Addressing the teachers and students, she said that it is worth mentioning that teachers contribute a lot in the success of not only a student but also the entire nation. All the achievements today attained by India be it in the field of science and technology, economy or military etc., it were the teachers who once established this foundation when they guided and planted seeds of inspiration and motivation in them and taught the skills.
All this has become possible through education for teachers are the architects of this modern education. It is through their guidance that today’s generation is reaching new heights and in the future too the role of the teachers will be as important as it was in the Gurukul days.
At the end of the event, she also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dr. Payal Arora, Mr. Vishav Bandhu Verma and Ms Pallak Saini and entire team of SWA.
