Jalandhar July 20 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, one of the top ranked colleges of North India, again set up an ideal example of quality education while contributing for the social cause by organising the free Skill Development Classes for the students of 12th standard. The P.G. Department of Music Instrumental organised Western and Indian Classical Instruments in which Dr. Seema and Dr. Sumit from Department of Music Instrumental taught the students about the basic principles of playing keyboard and guitar.
Dr. Seema taught them about the role of both right and left fingers while playing the guitar and Dr. Sumit established the comparative analysis between the western and Indian music. He put forth that the western notes – C D E F G A B are same as Indian Sargam. During the classes, the students had learnt playing religious hymns, Bollywood songs on C major scale along with few lessons on strumming.

She added that now a days students want to develop their skills in multiple fields and she can proudly say this that ACFA has lot of such platforms to offer to students who want to explore themselves even while coming out of their comfort zones.
She added that when it comes to music, one whole block is dedicated to it and all the latest instruments be it Indian or Western, are there for the students to learn it from. ACFA leaves no stone unturned to encourage and polish the talent of the students and we often see some or the other corner of the campus being lit up with the melodious tunes of our talented students. She wished all the students best of luck for their future endeavours.
