Jalandhar April 1 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Department of Music organized a National Webinar on the topic ‘Sitar, a popular instrument among string instruments: with special reference to Film Music’. Dr. Bhairvi, Assistant Professor, Department of Music Instrument, Govt. College for Girls, Cheeka was the Resource person of the day. At the outset, Mrs. Arupriya , Head, Deptt of Music, introduced the chief guest to the participants of the webinar and also familiarized the audience with the topic.
Dr. Bhairvi threw considerable light on the importance and use of Sitar instrument in the Bollywood Songs. She started with the Bhajan, Hey Ram by Jagjit Singh. Later, she also performed songs like Lagja gale, Naam gum jaega, Moh Moh ke dhaage, Main tainu samjhava ki, Ishq sufiyana and many more. At the end, Mrs. Anu Bala extended vote of thanks to the resource person and the participants.
