Dr. Surinder Pal Mand took over as the new head of Punjabi Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar August 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Post-Graduate Punjabi Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar continuously strives for the prosperity of language, literature and culture. Punjabi department has given countless teachers, thinkers and writers etc. to the society. Dr. Surinder Pal Mand took over as the new head of this department. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar, former Head of Punjabi Department, in the presence of all the teachers and head of all departments, gave the appointment letter to Dr. Mand handing over the responsibility of the head of the department and gave him a bouquet and wished him good luck for the future.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Samra said that Post-Graduate Punjabi Department is a teaching department of historical importance in Punjab. He assured that under the able leadership of Dr. Mand, the Punjabi department will progress and it will continue to serve Punjabi language, literature and culture. He added that before this, Dr. Mand has worked as Dean Student Welfare, Coordinator Punjab Migration Study Center, Nodal Officer University Affairs, Convener Scholarship, Nodal Officer Admission, editor of the Punjabi section of the college magazine Beas and held other executive positions.

Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs said that Prof. Mand will keep the rich legacy of department intact like his former heads. Former HoD, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar congratulated Dr. Mand on this occasion and wished him all the best for the future. On this occasion, apart from the teachers of the department, the heads of various departments Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Prof. Arunjit Kaur, Prof. Suman Chopra, Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Prof. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Harjinder Singh, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra and Dr. Kuldip Sodhi also gave best wishes to Dr. Mand.
