Jalandhar September 26 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Economic Association of PCM S. D. College, Jalandhar organized Poster-making and Declamation competitions on the topic “Indian Economy after 75 years of Independence”. Students of Economics participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and showed excellent skills in expressing their ideas through posters and declamation. There were eighteen participants for Poster Making competition out of which 4 were awarded with various prizes and twelve students participated in Declamation out of which 3 students were awarded.
Declamation started with Priya of B.Sc. (Economics) Semester V, giving her views on ‘Growth of Monetization and financial System in Indian Economy’ and also got first position. Then Pooja of B. A. Semester V got the second position who expressed her views on the ‘Need for the Spirit of Patriotism for Development of the Country’. Third position was bagged by Chandni of B.Sc. (Economics) Semester I, on the topic ‘Achievements of Various Sectors of Indian Economy’.
In the Poster Making competition Deepu Rana of B.A.B.Ed. Semester III got the first position, second position was bagged by Simran Kaur of B.A.B.Ed. Semester V and third position was secured by Pooja of B.A. Semester V. Not only this, Arshnoor of B.Sc. (Economics) Semester I got Consolation Prize for the same. President Naresh Kumar Budhia ji, other honourable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar praised the Department of Economics for organizing such activities which provide a platform to the students to not only communicate their opinions, but also to assert them effectively and confidently.
