Jalandhar December 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A Seven Day Special NSS camp is going on in the premises of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar and the fourth day of the camp as usual began with DAV Gaan and NSS song. On this fourth day, NSS volunteers of this camp visited village Gakhal along with their teachers. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the volunteers and the members of NSS unit before going to the village and inspired the entire NSS team to continue such sorts of pious work. After reaching the village, a medical camp was organized in the Gurudwara Sahib named Hemkunt Sahib situated in the village of Gakhal.
Programme Officer of the NSS Unit and other unit members welcomed Sukhwant Singh-Sarpanch of the village, Jasbir Singh-Panch of the village, Iqbal singh-President of the Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara and Kulwinder Singh (State Awardee) General Secretary of Hemkunt Sahib. Dr. Jasbir Kaur was the medical officer from the college who checked the BP, Sugar level of the local residents of the village. Approximately 73 people of the village were checked by the medical officer.
They were also given necessary medicines pertaining to their health issues. Head-Honcho of the village, Sukhwant Singh and Kulwinder Singh Gakhal warmly thanked the NSS Unit of the college and appreciated the efforts made by the NSS volunteers. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen applauded the endeavors made by NSS unit in the village. Programme officer of the Camp Dr. Veena Arora also inspired the volunteers to take in such kind of social services with full of gusto. Moreover, Ms. Haramnu assisted the volunteers in this medical camp. On this occasion, Ms. Bhawana and Mr. Parminder singh were also present in this camp.
