
Jalandhar July 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The academic community at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, eagerly anticipates the new academic session, infused with spirituality and determination to achieve excellence in education and beyond. A Havan Yajan was performed to initiate the session on a pious note. The serene atmosphere of the yajnashala was filled with the holy chants and the incense. The entire ceremony was a soulful tribute to Sh. S.N. Mayor ji, Senior Member Local Advisory Committee who has left for heavenly abode recently and his family members got the yagyashala renovated to eternalise his name and memory.
The worthy guests included the entire Mayor family, Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K Sud, Vice President DAVCMC and Chairman LAC, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Sh. Ajay Goswami, Sh. Surender Seth, Sh. SP Sehdev, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Sh. Sudhir Sharma, Sh. Gurcharan Singh and Mrs. Daljeet of Punjab National Bank. Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen and all circled around the sacred yajnakund and all joined together to recite shlokas and seek the blessings of the Almighty.

She conveyed the blessings of Padmashri Dr. Punam Suri Ji, President of the DAV College Managing Committee, and reiterated his statement that collective prayers are truly effective for the success of a task. She remarked that Mayor ji was an inspiration towards dedication and hard work. Dr. Sareen expressed her gratitude and thanks towards Mayor Family and for the renovation of Yajnashala. She also conveyed her best wishes for the success and progress of the institution. Sh. Atul Mayor and Mrs. Suman expressed their respect for their father and gratefulness towards HMV.
The event also marked the release of HMV Vision edited by Mrs. Rama Sharma and HMV News-Vol. 51, edited by Mrs. Lovleen Kaur, Dr.Deepti Dhir, Mr. Parminder Singh and Mr. Ashish under the guidance of Mrs. Ritu Bajaj. The team that contributed towards attaining top ranking in India Today Survey were congratulated on the occasion. Team from Punjab National Bank was also honoured on the occasion.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen presented gifts to the faculty and staff who have their birthdays in the month. Mrs. Sonia and Ms. Ritika from the non-teaching staff shared thoughts for the month. The Music Department, led by Dr. Prem Sagar, Mr. Parduman and the talented students, graced the occasion with a melodious Bhajan. The yajna and the stage were gracefully conducted by Dr. Meenu Talwar, Head of the Sanskrit Department, and Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean, Innovation & Research. The holy yajna saw the participation of all the faculty and non-teaching staff creating a sense of unity and devotion.
