Jalandhar November 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Paying tribute to iconic freedom fighter Kartar Singh Sarabha on his 106th martyrdom day, History Association of PCM S. D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized a Paper Reading Contest, thus contributing to the year-long series of events to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The topic of the contest was ‘Punjabi Sikh Revolutionary Kartar Singh Sarabha’. In this competition, students from different streams participated enthusiastically. The judges of the competition were Mrs. Ujla Dada Joshi, the Head of the Department of English and Dr. Neelam Gupta, the Head of the Department of Sanskrit. In this competition, Manisha of B.A Semester III got first, Umang of B.A Semester V won second and Simran of B.A Semester III secured third position. The honourable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners. The worthy Principal also praised the efforts of the History Association for instilling love for the motherland in the students through such patriotic events.
