
Jalandhar November 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized Punjabi Poetry Competition as per the directions of Bhasha Vibhag Punjab and Higher Education Department under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The students presented their views on Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat through their poems.
On this occasion, Head of Punjabi Department Mrs. Navroop addressed the students and said that the students should read good literature and should try to enhance their vocabulary. Mrs. Veena Arora from Punjabi Department told the students about the importance of Punjab Day and appreciated the writings of the students.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave prizes to the winners and said that the pronunciation should be correct in Punjabi. Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Incharge Mrs. Kuljit Kaur encouraged the students. Gagandeep Kaur, BBA Sem III and Simran BA Sem I got 1st, Kamalpreet Kaur and Rohini, BA Sem 5 got 2nd and Jaspreet Kaur, BA Sem I and Simran (MA Sem I) got 3rd prize. Special prize was given to Ms. Kirandeep Kaur, BA Sem I.
