Jalandhar February 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, the PG Department of Psychology, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised an Educational visit to The Care For Autism Foundation, Jalandhar. The students were welcomed by Mr. Atul Madaan, Clinical Psychologist and Chief Advisor, Care For Autism; and his team at the facility.
Mr. Madaan briefed the students about autism spectrum disorder, early signs, behavioural factors, identification criterion and how early intervention helps children better. The students were then shown the occupational therapy and Multi- sensory rooms and we’re informed about the uses of every equipment present there.
After the tour of the facility, Mr. Atul Madaan discussed the importance and types of therapeutic avenues that are required for a child under the spectrum of autism. Mr. Madaan also answered the queries from the children.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of the students for creating awareness and encouraged them to take part in such visits in the future as well. On this occasion Dr Ashmeen Kaur, Head of PG Department of Psychology, and faculty members, Ms Niharika, Ms Shruti and Ms Harpreet were present.
