Jalandhar December 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The PG Department of Punjabi of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a Poem Recitation Competition in collaboration with Youth Welfare Department of the college. 32 students participated in this competition and recited the poems of famous poets in English, Hindi and Punjabi Language. Dean Youth Welfare Mrs. Navroop encouraged the students and gave them tips for excellent presentation. Incharge Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Mrs. Kuljit Kaur congratulated the participants and said that literature and society have a deep relationship.
The judges of the competition were Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Mrs. Ritu Bajaj and Mrs. Lovleen Kaur. First position was won by Ms. Sakira Irshad and Manpreet Kaur, Second position was won by Sofia and Gagandeep and third position was won by Kirandeep Kaur and Bipneet Kaur. Neha and Drishti got consolation prize. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the winners and said the youth must highlight the challenges in social and national scenario in their writings. Winners were given prizes too.
