Jalandhar January 23 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidalaya, Jalandhar organized “Voters Awareness Rally” to celebrate National Voters Day Competitions in collaboration with Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Chief Guest Mrs. Vani Vij, Director Dainik Savera, students of HMV & other colleges of the district and faculty members of the college held a rally in the college campus to motivate the students to cast their votes.
Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovation and Coordinator of National Voters Day welcomed Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen and Chief Guest Mrs. Vani Vij, Director Dainik Savera. They inaugurated the rally by waving green flag and raising the slogan “Nothing like voting. I vote for sure.” Principal Dr. Sareen motivated students to take part in the largest democracy of the world by getting their voter cards and cast their vote wisely. During the rally faculty of Political Science department and Co-Coordinators of National Voters Day Mrs. Nita Malik and Mrs. Alka Sharma guided students of the age 18 or above who had yet not made their voter cards to make the voter cards.
They were given information about the online portal ‘nvsp.in’. where they can get registered and get the voter cards made. Dr. Veena Arora, Dean Outreach programmes and Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Head of Hindi Department also motivated students to get their voter cards and cast their votes. Students of different colleges also participated in the rally. Ms. Harmanu, Incharge NSS and NSS volunteers of the college prepared banners of motivating slogans and raising slogans in the rally. Around 100 students enthusiastically participated in the rally. Dr. Shalinder, Assistant Professor in Fine Arts and Dr. Jiwan Devi Assistant Professor in Political Science accompanied the students.
