Jalandhar April 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is committed to provide special opportunities to the students in academic studies as well as in the fields of culture, sports, research and literature etc. to hone their talents. In this connection a literary meet program was organized by the Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of the Post Graduate Department of Punjabi. Immigrant Canadian poets Bhupinder Dule and Preeti Dule arrived as literary personalities.
He was welcomed by Principal Dr. Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Gopal Singh Butter, Head of the Department and Prof. Kuldeep Sodhi Coordinator Punjabi Sahitya Sabha. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Samra lauded the literary work being done by the department. He added that NRIs have made invaluable contribution to the development of Punjabi culture and Punjabi literature. He said that our students can easily learn about foreign and immigrant life style from diaspora literature and writers.
This experience proves to be extremely beneficial for their education and future life. Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar, giving information about Mr. Bhupinder Dule, said that Mr. Dule is an alumnus of the college and his students used to participate in biographical events. He said that Bhupinder Sadule is the son of renowned poet and critic Randhir Singh Chand. Mr. Bhupinder Dule shared his experiences of expatriate life with the students. He recited selected ghazals from his ghazal collection ‘Band-Band’ and expressed his views on ghazal technique. At last, Prof. Kuldeep Sodhi thanked everyone. On this occasion, the teachers of department of Punjabi Dr. Surinderpal Mand, Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Sukhdev Singh Nagra and students were present.
