Jalandhar April 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The festivities, cheer and vibrancy were at the peak in Jashan- e- Baisakhi organized at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School. The students completely dazzled in Punjabi attires welcomed the worthy guest Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen with Punjabi folk songs and the beats of dhol. School Co-Coordinator Mrs. Arvinder Kaur and Event Incharges Mrs. Renu and Mrs. Anuradha felicitated the Chief guest Principal Prof. Dr. ( Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Mrs. Navroop, Head of Punjabi Department with the green planters. The celebration commenced with lamp- lighting followed by DAV Gaan.
The students enthusiastically showcased glory of Punjab by presenting giddha, bhangra, luddi, tappe exhibiting rich Punjabi heritage and Culture. The heart- winning enactment on Bhands stole the show and re-joined the audience with the cultural tradition of Punjab. The singing of folk songs swayed the audience with total admiration to Punjab’s vibrant energy. On this occasion, the students of the Students Council presented the marvelous choreography depicting the journey of HMV winning many accolades in the session 2023-24.
While congratulating the students on the occasion of Baisakhi, Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen felt immensely elated for the farmers as this day reaps a good harvest. She beautifully explained the rich legacy of Punjab which made us feel proud on our Punjabi roots. Mrs. Arvinder Kaur, School Co- Coordinator presented the vote of thanks. The stage was handled by Ms. Rashmi Sethi along with her team of students including Pavni, Angel and Arshpreet. All the members of teaching and non- teaching staff of Collegiate section were present there.
