Jalandhar August 7 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated 9th National Handloom Festival with full zeal and enthusiasm. The celebrations were organised by the Post Graduate Department of Fashion Designing. Addressing on the occasion and showing the importance of Swadeshi in the country, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that K.M.V. always promote handloom and handicrafts. She further maintained that we all should support the local artisans so that they can get livelihood as they are not only stakeholders but also helping in reviving our rich cultural heritage.
Along with this, she told that K.M.V. is empowering the budding designers as entrepreneurs by providing them all the necessary skills in fashion designing to be self-reliant as well as establish themselves in this era of competition. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Harpreet, Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing for successfully organising the celebrations.
