Mentoring Session

Jalandhar August 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a Mentoring Session on Lean Startup and Minimum Viable Product. The session was organised by PG Department of Botany in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council. This was a remarkable event that brought together participants with a passion for botany, creativity, and mentoring on startup. The resource person for the session was Mr. Sukhjeet Cheema, Chairman and Managing Director, Pukhraj Organic Pvt. India Ltd. The session aimed to showcase the intricate structures and importance of startup and production of minimum viable product.

The mentoring session was organised to provide mentees with insights into the principles of “Lean Startup methodology” and the concept of creating a MVP. It helped participants to understand how these concepts are applied in real-world scenarios to build successful and sustainable businesses. The mentees were introduced to the core perceptions of iterative development, validated learning and continuous experimentation.

The mentor also emphasised the importance of reducing waste, uncertainty and risk in startup ventures & also explained the key principles of Lean Startup such as entrepreneurship management, build-measure-learn, validated learning, innovative accounting and builds a sustainable business.

The session saw enthusiastic participation from students

The session saw enthusiastic participation from students as they came from both graduate and post graduate groups, making the event a dynamic blend of ideas and perspectives. He concluded his mentoring session by providing valuable insights into the principles of Startup and the concept of creating a Minimum Viable Product.

Participants gained an unrestricted understanding of how these concepts can be applied to build successful and sustainable businesses. The session’s emphasis on validated learning, and customer-centricity left the mentees equipped with practical knowledge to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship effectively.

Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude to the resource person for imparting important information on the subject to the students. She averred that such events help the students in developing their understanding of their subjects & will also motivate the students to pursue research into their subjects. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of PG Department of Botany for successfully organising the session.
